Economic Mission Statement of the Canton Grisons industry
The economic mission statement Grisons 2010 is understood to be a political-economic growth concept for the Canton Grisons as a economic location, and has been drawn up by a team of various representatives of industry and trade in the Grisons (parties involved see page 52).
Taking into account market forces and the political-economic development, the mission statement deals with the specific economic growth potential of the Canton Grisons, as well as the freedom of action provided by cantonal politics. Naturally, decisions from federal politics are also of great importance for growth at business locations in the Canton Grisons. These are, however, only discussed in this document to the degree to which the Canton Grisons can influence these national policies.
Goal: To make use of the growth potential of the Grisons as business location
First and foremost, the economic mission statement is concerned with the possibilities of increasing the economic performance of the Canton Grisons through its own efforts. In this way, priority is given to measures which are intended to increase the added value of the canton. To achieve this purpose, the economic mission statement identifies sustainable growth potential of the business location (e.g. tourism, hydro-electrical power) and illustrates approaches which promise success for exploitation of these recognised areas of growth potential provided by trade, politics and administration.
The economic mission statement of the Canton Grisons 2010 is intended to help realise economically, socially and ecologically sustainable business policies in this region.
