Transporters with an operating weight between 34 and 40 tons require a permit. Road transport companies / freight agents are awarded permits if their vehicles are approved for loads of up to 40 tons and the annual quota of transports is not exceeded. Requests for permits must be submitted to the following positions:

Inland transports to the road traffic licensing office of the canton where the vehicle is registered - www.asa.ch

Transit, import and export transport, ASTRA contingents - www.astra.admin.ch

Roads without signalised weight limits may be used. Signalised limits, e.g. trailers prohibited, must be observed.
